Kinship Values its Volunteers!

Finding the  time and energy to volunteer for any organization is a big step. bit also a very rewarding one.  Whether you are 21 or 80 every Kinship volunteer is essential to our program and its mission to bring positive change in the lives of our children.

Here are some ways you can help:

Kinship Ambassadors:
An Ambassador acts as liaison between our program and your church.  We consider you to be the life source for the success of recruiting mentors for our Kinship children.

As our liaison you would assist us in raising awareness of the need of young people in our community in need of a mentor.

Kinship of Aitkin County works to do whatever we can do to help facilitate your success as a Kinship Ambassador.  Please contact our Mentor Recruitment Coordinator to find out more about this exciting opportunity.

Kinship Mentor:
The role of a mentor is being friend, not a social worker, case counselor or psychologist.  They are volunteers who have a heart felt interest and concern for youth and want to make a sincere difference in the life of a child.  These volunteers go through an initial training with Kinship staff and attend periodic refresher trainings to help them be as supportive as possible in their matches.

Activity Volunteer:
Kinship host quarterly activities and service learning events for our youth.  We are always looking for volunteers to help at these activities and try to get as close to one adult for each youth in attendance.  By enrolling as a Kinship Activity Volunteer you will go through the same screening process as a mentor and be invited to participate in an many activities as you choose for minimum of one year.
